which is turning into ornament weeks, but still cute, right? This one is super easy, too and more of a true hybrid project. Note #1: I was asked recently by a non-scrapbooker exactly what 'hybrid kid' referred to. She suggested it was hybrid because it was both fun and educational…great answer, add a gold star to your chart, Kelly…but what I meant by the title is a scrapbooking term that describes using both digital and traditional paper scrapbooking methods. Both answers work! Note #2: Sorry for the dark pictures…we've had several days of blah weather lately.
Today we're making wreaths! I took a small paper plate and, using a roll of masking tape, traced a circle in the middle and cut it out.
I then printed two full page, digital scrap papers from my goodies (here's the hybrid part). I cut the papers into three sized squares…1 1/4 inch, 1 inch, and 3/4 inch.

I then let Lauren loose with the glue…yikes! She started with the largest squares, glueing them all around both edges, then stacked the medium sized squares on the next go around, and finally the smallest squares on top. A bottle of glue later!, she added the red tri-beads (the same beads from the candy cane ornaments!).

After it dried, I punched two holes near the top and added the ribbon and the skinny ribbon hanger. These would also be really cute with the bigger paper plates hanging on the front door! We made these in my preschool class (did you know I taught a four year old class?) and put a picture of the kids on the backside so that their pic filled the middle of the wreath…really cute. I think one of the moms from class hung hers around the rear-view mirror in the car!

Cute, huh? Did you know that running the ends of the grosgrain ribbon quickly through the flame of a lighter seals the ends and they won't fray? Stick with me, I got a tons of little tips! Happy crafting! Please send your photos!
